The duo celebrated India’s 10 wicket thumping of Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup final in style.
It took less than three hours of playing time for India to run past Sri Lanka in the 2023 Asia Cup final in Colombo on Sunday. Inspired by Mohammed Siraj’s six, the Rohit Sharma-led side would restrict the hosts to a record-lowest Asia Cup score of 50 before going all out in 6.1 overs.
And so, side by side all the while, the men in blue celebrated their eighth Asia Cup victory in style. Southpaw Ishan Kishan, who opened the innings in the final with Shubman Gill and ended the summit clash, was involved in a post-match mimicry dual with former India captain Virat Kohli.
In a video that has gone viral on social media, Kishan is seen enacting Kohli’s walk as Kohli is surrounded by other Indian players who are left in hysterical observation of the 24-year-old. Kohli replied to Kishan and executed his own enactment of the first one.
Kishan closed the Asia Cup with 143 runs in his kitty, which included a top score of 82 against Pakistan in the middle order during the group stage match at Pallekele, which was ruined by India’s first innings batting.
On the other hand, Kohli scored his 77th international hundred in the next match between India and Pakistan during the Super 4 stage.
India will next take on Australia in a three-match ODI series starting on Friday, September 22 in Mohali.
